Diagnosis

The males is the only chlorocyphid in Africa outside Angola with an entirely blue Abd and black legs with white anterior streaks on the tibiae. [Adapted from Dijkstra & Clausnitzer 2014]

Habitat description

Mostly streams, but also rivers, shaded by forest, but sometimes in open areas in forest. Mostly with a sandy bottom, often dead trunks or branches, and probably submerged roots and/or coarse detritus. From 100 to 900 m above sea level, but mostly between 300 and 600.
