Chlorocypha cyanifrons (Selys, 1873)

Type locality: Gabon, no locality data available.
Diagnosis
Male is similar to C. trifaria by (a) frons extensively marked with blue; (b) labrum black with 2 blue spots; (c) tibiae all black, although sometimes with whitish pruinosity; (d) Abd all red. However differs by (1) occurring in Lower Guinea and western side of the Congo Basin; (2) at least anteclypeus and in some populations also postclypeus black and thus without blue, i.e. ‘nose’ often only dorsally blue.
Habitat description
Mostly headwaters, but also larger streams, shaded by forest. Probably often with submerged roots, dead trunks or branches and/or coarse detritus. From 0 to 1300 m above sea level, but mostly below 1000.
