Hadrothemis camarensis (Kirby, 1889)

Diagnosis
Male is similar to H. vrijdaghi by (a) frons at least partially dark metallic; (b) labrum all pale, sometimes dark brown or black; (c) labium all pale; (d) vertex without tubercles; (e) thorax and Abd dull brown to black, not rufous; (f) numerous cell-doublings in medial planate of Fw and often Hw; (g) Pt seldom over 4 mm long; (h) S2 under 4 mm broad. However, differs by (1) ranging widely from W Kenya to W Africa; (2) mesepisterna dorsally pale greyish (rather than blackish to brown), contrasting with sides of thorax; (3) Fw triangle of 2 cells and subtriangle of 3-4, rarely of 3 and up to 7 respectively; (4) Hw base amber to brown usually to arculus, sometimes tips smoky, if whole wings smoky brown, only golden at base. Habitat description
Small pockets of often temporary water in tree holes (and similar small containers) shaded by forest. Usually with coarse detritus. From 0 to 2100 m above sea level, but mostly below 700, although possibly up to 2600.
