Type locality: Equateur, Tshuapa, Lukolela, DRC
Diagnosis
Differs from other Mastigogomphus species by (1) ranging from C DRC to W Africa; (2) posterior hamule stout with square apex, rather than slender with round apex; (3) S10 and appendages usually pale or brownish rather than black or dark brown, but sometimes S10 black dorsally. Habitat description
Not known well, but probably rivers or streams shaded by forest. Probably often with a soft (like muddy) bottom. From 300 to 500 m above sea level, but possibly down to sea level.
