Habitat description

Streams, but possibly also headwaters, shaded by forest. Often with emergent vegetation, a gravelly and/or sandy bottom, and probably submerged roots and/or rocks. From 0 to 2100 m above sea level, but mostly between 100 and 700, although possibly even higher up.
