Africallagma fractum (Ris, 1921)
Slender Bluet

Type locality: Kapiri, DRC

Diagnosis

Male is similar to A. elongatum by (a) spine of paraprocts reaches well beyond its bulge and usually also beyond tip of cerci; (b) cerci with dorsal border markedly excised (lateral view). However, differs by (1) ranging from Katanga to Angola and South Africa; (2) humeral stripe usually reduced to hairline for much of their length, much narrower than antehumeral; (3) cerci with dorsal border barely excised. Habitat description

Standing waters in open landscapes. Often with emergent and usually aquatic vegetation. From 700 to 2100 m above sea level, but possibly down to 100.

confirmed: Angola; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Malawi; Mozambique; Republic of South Africa; Zambia; Zimbabwe; NOT confirmed: Tanzania
