Type locality: Pweto [locality doubted because of Sapho male], DRC


Male overlaps with Z. atritibiae and Z. regisalberti and is similar by (a) dorsum of thorax with pale cross-band anterior to antealar sinus; (b) hind femora and often tibiae (partly) brown; (c) anterior denticles on femora directed towards base. However, differs by (1) great size, Hw 54-61 mm; (2) all pale rather than black labrum; (3) uniformly pale sides of thorax; (4) 5-6 cell-rows between anal loop and tornus; (5) 18½-20½ Ax in Fw. Habitat description

Not known well, but probably rivers or streams in open areas in forest. Probably often with a sandy and/or soft (like muddy) bottom. Inferred to occur from 200 to 1500 m above sea level.
