Diagnosis

Male is similar to A. mitwabae by (a) head black posterior to antennae; (b) labrum all pale; (c) dorsum of middle lobe of prothorax largely black; (d) tibiae black, anterior side of mid and hind pair whitish or blue; (e) dorsum of S4-5 largely or entirely black; (f) dorsum of S9-10 and cerci orange; (g) cerci extend just beyond paraprocts. However, differs by (1) more widespread and ranging from S Tanzania to N Malawi; (2) labrum and anterior side of tibiae blue, rather than pale yellow and whitish (respectively); (3) anal vein terminates proximal or just distal to node, 1-2 cells beyond quadrilateral. Habitat description

Not known, but probably headwater streams shaded by forest. Probably often with coarse detritus. Inferred to occur from 1000 to 1600 m above sea level.
